Semaphore can be used in many different forms!

Look for the angles the semaphore flags make. It could be elsewhere besides the box.

The polaroid label has etchings of semaphore on the firewood. Decode the semaphore for the secret message.

The decoded message for semaphore is: 071685. That is today’s date. Where else have you seen today’s date mentioned?

Look through the red flame on the front of the box, there is a message waiting for you.

The semaphore puzzle answer is “071685”. Using that number along with the ‘this day keeps repeating itself’ clue, use the date as the cipher key. This is known as a Date Shift Cipher. Shift each letter of the text to the right by the number of spaces indicated by the number below it. The decoded letter reads: I told you I’d find you again. Ten years. I could never forget about you, my little rabbit. We had to be together again! This is our day after all. Since last time didn’t… well, end the way you wanted… I’ll give you a bit of a head start. One of your fellow camp counselors has been taken! She is somewhere on the campgrounds. Find where I started and follow my trail little rabbit. Where am I hiding her? Hurry now. Her life is in your hands.

You’ve received the first two items from the candle. Perhaps these relate to a location on the map.

The two items are a horse and a shoe. Collectively, this is “Horseshoe”. Start at the Horseshoe cabin on the map.

Your patience will be rewarded by waiting for the third item in the candle.

Once the compass has revealed itself, you can follow the directions on the side of the candle. The red arrow looks familiar..

The red arrow on the compass matches the red arrow on the map. The red arrow on the map points due North. Therefore, the red arrow on the compass, which is East, is to be used as North. Use the compass in this direction to follow the directions on the side of the candle.

Following the directions on the side of the candle, while treating East as North, you take this trail: Horseshoe Cabin to the Hiking Trail, to the Signpost, to Ladybug Cabin, to Tents, to end at Hiking Trail. Open the Hiking Trail envelope to save your friend! Will you get to her in time?
