Deep within the gubat of the Philippines dwell ancient beings. Some are beautiful and merciful, while others lie in wait. They are eager to share their KUWENTO with you. Encased in wax is one creature from Philippine folklore.

This blind box is a 3 oz votive, containing one enamel pin. There is a 25% chance of receiving each design.

This is Mysterywick's first folklore collaboration, featuring artist Jessica Legaspi and her company MAHALINA. Jessica is a former emergency department nurse, an entrepreneur, and artist based in Portland, Oregon. She was born and raised in Pasig City, Philippines, then immigrated to the US when she was a teen.

MAHALINA (ma•ha•LEE•na: Tagalog for “charming”) evolved from Ube Charms, an Ube (OOO•beh: Tagalog for “Purple yam”) confection pop-up shop Jessica established in 2023. They curate confections, comestibles, and crafts inspired by the Philippines. MAHALINA allows Jessica to expand her collaborations with other artists and makers, beyond her Ube treats!

Jessica’s journey with MAHALINA and Ube Charms is a way to honor herself, her family, and country. It is a way to deepen her relationship with Filipino culture while navigating living life in America. It is a way to be creative and mindful amidst a happy nursing career.
